Dr. Alaina Kroes

About Me: Alaina M. Kroes, PsyD

Clinical Psychologist & Assessment Specialist

I am Dr. Alaina M. Kroes, a licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults.

My approach to assessment is rooted in clinical rigor, warmth, and deep collaboration. I view an evaluation not as a search for what is "wrong," but as an opportunity to discover how you or your child can thrive. Every brain is wired differently, and my goal is to help you understand that unique wiring so you can navigate school, work, and relationships with confidence and clarity.

My Philosophy

I believe that a psychological evaluation should be a collaborative and empowering experience. I combine evidence-based standardized testing with a compassionate, person-centered approach. I look at the whole person: their strengths, resilience, creativity, and environment, not just diagnostic criteria.

Whether you are a parent seeking answers for a struggling child, or an adult looking to make sense of your own lifelong patterns, I am here to guide you through the assessment process with empathy, respect, and actionable insights.

Professional Background

I earned my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, receiving extensive training in psychological, neuropsychological, psychoeducational, and diagnostic assessment across the lifespan. My clinical experience spans diverse settings totalling over 6,000 clinical hours, allowing me to accurately identify complex, co-occurring presentations (such as twice-exceptional profiles, high performers, and/or AuADHD masked by anxiety). I am dedicated to staying at the forefront of neurodevelopmental research to ensure that the families and individuals I serve receive the highest standard of care. My research interests include parent-child relationships which was the subject of my dissertation. I gained extensive knowledge in assessments during my post-doctoral fellowship at a private practice in Wisconsin. I am licensed in both Texas and Wisconsin. My interests outside of the office include being outdoors, spending time with family, eating pie, and reading.

Licensed in Texas (#39308) and Wisconsin (#3857-57)
